Catanduanes tourist spots: Have you ever heard of this eco-paradise?

Have you ever heard of Catanduanes?

If you are a traveler who wants to see a natural eco-paradise, You’d surely love to check out Catanduanes. Catanduanes has so many beautiful tourist spots to offer that will make you wonder why it’s not one of the country’s top tourist destinations yet. Catanduanes is one of the most beautiful Islands in the Philippines. It is the 12th-largest island located on the coast of the Bicol Region in the southern part of Luzon. They called the province the “ Land of the Howling Winds” Because of its location that faces the pacific ocean.

Catanduanes is still in its developing stage in terms of tourism. The place is not yet that touristy compared to other popular islands. And this is what makes this island a must-visit. You would not imagine that the Philippines has this majestic hidden paradise. Well, not really that hidden because I was able to see it with my naked eyes. This place is really for the adventure seekers who love to experience the calmness and the beauty of this majestic Island.

You won’t really run out of things to do in Catanduanes.

It will take you a long journey to get to Catanduanes but as you step on the majestic Island, voila! Everything is worth the trip. The simple island life, the peace, and the quiet ambiance, where everybody knows everybody, and the small crowds in the many beaches on the island make Catanduanes very attractive to travelers around the world. This place is certainly ready to exceed expectations with its breathtaking natural attractions. The island province has several rolling hills and grassy highlands. From the spectacular viewpoints to pristine beaches, to chasing waterfalls and caves to gorgeous cathedrals and churches to visit and so much more amazing attractions to explore. It’s actually for you to find out when come visit Catanduanes.

Here is a list of my favorite Catanduanes tourist spots:

BINURONG POINT

Get ready for a hiking adventure for you will be passing forest trails, boulders, hiking up pasturelands, and walking through narrow paths. It’s actually a perfect heart-pounding activity. Just be careful as you see it’s beauty, your heart might jump out to your eyes. Hiking up to Binuorong is a must, It will only take 20-30 minutes for you to see the jaw-dropping views of the open ocean crashing against the rocks. Another beautiful spot that offers equal beauty with a great view of where the sky meets the land and the sea is at Balacay Point in Baras town.

Fall in Love with Maribina Falls, Nahulugan falls and Hicming Falls.

You can go to visit these beautiful falls in a day. Be awed by the green forest surrounding these falls, and jump into their refreshing natural pools.

Puraran beach

Puraran beach is known for its majestic wave. Didn’t have I mentioned that Catanduanes is also known as a surfing destination just like Cloud 9 in Siargao. International Surfers come to the Philippines and head straight to Puraran. I’ve met a few of them during our stay there. This is actually a popular destination for surfers. And this is also one of the reasons why I love going back to this place. I am not a pro in surfing but I love the adrenaline I am getting when riding the board. Puraran beach has a wide long stretch of white sandy shore with clear turquoise water where you can sit down, chill, and perfect for finding inner peace.

Twin Rock Beach or Igang Beach

It has its own captivating beauty with its creamy white sand beach and crystal clear water with a very relaxing ambiance. They called it Twin Rock Beach because of the huge rock formations that are located on both ends of the beach. They offer a lot of activities that you can enjoy with such as skimboarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, and it’s a popular spot for surfboarding and windsurfing. And there are more beaches than you can check on.

See Jesus’ Face Rock at Talisay Beach.

Take a long Walk Along Amenia Beach.

Find inner peace in Balite Beach.

Best time to visit Catanduanes

The best time to visit the island of Catanduanes in the Philippines is from February until September.

Two dialects of Bicol are spoken in Catanduanes, Northern Catanduanes, and South Catanduanes. Thus, Tagalog and English are both widely spoken and understood.

Catanduanes the “Happy Island“

Catanduanes is now starting to be called the “Happy Island“. It’s because of the wealth of beauty of the island. I feel everyone can be happy here. The locals are so friendly. It makes them happy seeing new faces. They would treat you as if they know you a long time ago. I remember we tried the top load ride, we were like one of those famous personalities that they really want to talk to us, asking about our itinerary, trying to tell us what are the best things to do, offering help on how to go on with our trip and even offer their place for us to stay. That’s how nice and hospitable they are. That was overwhelming indeed. We refuse the offer of course. My heart was smiling for the entire trip. Meeting new people is really one of the best things that could happen in traveling. We took all their advice and that made our trip superb! The Island has these God-Given treasures of beauty and goodness that will definitely leave you very happy by the end of your trip.

Even that Catanduanes it’s not one of the country’s top tourist destinations yet, it has nice tourist spots to offer. And we are sure it deserves to be in The Top 10 Tourist Destinations in the Philippines
