Beaches in Cebu: Affordable Beach Resorts in Cebu North and South

The Philippine Islands are undoubtedly becoming more and more of a go-to destination for travelers around the entire globe, and for great reason. This breathtaking country offers endless opportunities to discover scenic beaches, incredible food, and hospitable locals. It is said that some of the best and most iconic beaches and resorts exist in Cebu.

Cebu is a province that is located pretty centrally among the various islands of the country. The climate here is considered to be tropical. One of the best times of year to make a trip to Cebu is in the winter months for the best experience of the beaches in Cebu. If you visit in the winter months, you are almost guaranteed to have bright and sunny days without excessive humidity. Another great aspect of this region is the fact that there are many affordable beach resorts in Cebu North. And just as many affordable beach resorts in Cebu South. Cebu also happens to be the oldest city in the Philippines, which is pretty neat! Let’s explore some of the fascinating experiences Cebu has to offer.

Beaches in Cebu

The province of Cebu is home to a wide variety of gorgeous beaches with bright white sand that stretches for miles. And crystal-clear blue water that you will want to jump into right away. Cebu North and Cebu South both offer pristine beaches for guests to explore. You are able to swim as much as your heart desires at any of the beaches mentioned below.

Cebu North

You will find the two major islands of Malapascua and Bantayan in the northern region of Cebu. Both of these islands can be reached via a ferry from the main island where Cebu is. Within Malapascua Island, you will discover the glorious Bounty Beach, Langub Beach, and Gugma Beach-to name a few. All of these beaches provide immaculate views and fun activities in their own unique ways.

Bounty Beach

Bounty Beach is the ideal place to make your way to if you crave pure white sand, pristine turquoise water, and more palm trees than you could ever imagine. Spend a day walking along the beautiful shore, admiring the tropical atmosphere. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring a book along. Find a shady hammock spot to post up at and let the outside world melt away. After your day of fun on the beach, make sure to find one of the many beachside restaurants or bars. To relax and take in the unreal view of this island.

Langub Beach

Langub Beach is another immaculate beach on the island of Malapascua. And happens to be a lot calmer and quieter than Bounty Beach is. Spend a day here lounging and swimming in the ultra-refreshing water. At the end of the day, it might be a good idea to pack a picnic, choose a quiet-but scenic-spot to set up. And watch the sun go down on the sparkling blue sea.

Gugma Beach

Gugma Beach is our next stop in our journey of the beautiful North Cebu beaches. Which is situated in a picturesque cove encircled by palm trees. Gugma Beach resides upon a vibrant coral reef that is teeming with life. Make sure you have your mask and snorkel handy and swim on out into the water and see how many different species of marine life you can identify. You could also spend some time exploring the surrounding natural areas. As there are some small pathways that wind through the lush palm trees.

Bantayan Island

Bantayan Island is the home to several more incredible must-see beaches in the northern region of Cebu. Kota Beach, Paradise Beach, and Sugar Beach are all spectacular and can be found here.

Kota Beach

It is more of a popular spot to check out on the island of Bantayan. But that does not make it any less remarkable. It is located near the town of Santa Fe. So it is convenient to set up accommodations here and be within very close proximity of the wonderful Kota beach. Swaying palms dot the shoreline and provide excellent spots to set up under and relax as you gaze out onto the deep blue water.

Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach definitely earned its name fairly by providing just that-a little slice of paradise in this corner of the world. Pure white powder-like sand fills the shore and refreshingly clear water is just waiting for you to jump on in. If you are fortunate, you might have the beach nearly all to yourself to enjoy. That’s what I call paradise.

Cebu South

While the beaches in Cebu North are places you absolutely do not want to miss. The southern region of Cebu has some of the most incredible spots in all of the Philippines. You will find beaches such as Matutinao Beach, Basdaku White Beach, and Tingko Beach in Cebu South.

Matutinao Beach

Matutinao Beach, Badian has become a popular destination for guests. Canyoneering happens to be an adventurous activity offered near here, so take a day to explore the mesmerizing canyons and then head over to lovely Matutinao Beach for the remainder of it. There are several options for resorts in this area, as well.

Basdaku White Beach

The next iconic beach is Basdaku White Beach in Moalboal and should definitely be high up on your priorities of places to visit in Cebu South. Vast shoreline with pure white sand and the water so many shades of blue you didn’t even know existed. Snorkeling the reefs and beach volleyball are just two of the numerous daytime activities you can participate in when at Basdaku Beach.

Tingko Beach

Last but certainly not least is Tingko Beach. Tingko Beach is yet another magnificent beach in Cebu South and offers resorts and sights that you will surely never forget. Throw on your snorkel gear and swim out in the bright blue water to the reefs for a day of exploration. At the end of the day, catch a sunset from the beach and let your worries dissolve.
